MELAKA – A female trainee pilot was rushed to hospital after the Piper 28 aircraft she was piloting skidded off the runway while landing at the Melaka International Airport in Batu Berendam, here.

Melaka Tengah police chief Christopher Patit said the aircraft went out of control before skidding and stopping, nose down.

The incident occurred at about 12.16pm. The Piper-28 (9M-ITQ) is operated by Aero Training Academy Sdn Bhd.

The 23-year-old trainee pilot experienced chest pain following the incident and was rushed to the Melaka hospital.

There were no serious injuries reported, and the aircraft was removed successfully at about 12.50pm. – The Vibes, August 18, 2023
