KUALA LUMPUR - Johor Darul Ta'zim FC (JDT) announced a landmark partnership with International organisation UNICEF to raise funds for the betterment of children at the JDT Headquarters today.

The Southern Tigers may also carry the UNICEF logo on the front of the 2021 jerseys. The partnership with UNICEF is the first of its kind in the region and will help further increase awareness of the needs of children.

UNICEF works to ensure every child can grow healthy and happy, live safely and achieve their full potential. Having previously announced several international commercial partnerships that are expected to generate an income for the club, JDT also focuses on corporate social responsibility programmes to give back to society.

"The most important aspect in a successful organisation is its human values," said HRH Major General Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

"As an organisation, we are very successful commercially. So, for the 2021 season, it is very important to ensure we do not lose touch with our roots and our human perspective as an organisation.

"We are proud to announce that JDT have secured a partnership with the world's largest organisation for the betterment of children, UNICEF. This partnership is the first of its kind between a football club and UNICEF in the region.

"We are very happy to position JDT as a champion of UNICEF's causes globally alongside my good friend David Beckham and remind ourselves that children are the future, here in Johor and all around the world."

JDT have always been quick to show their humanitarian side with multiple aids to flood and earthquakes victims in Johor, Penang, Pahang, Sabah and more.

The JDT players and officials also donated a portion of their salaries to the Johor Disaster Fund in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic while the club donated all proceeds — RM680,000 — from the 2019 JDT All-Stars Friendly to the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation, Women's Aid Organisation and National Cancer Society of Malaysia. – The Vibes, December 17, 2020.
