BUKIT JALIL – The Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) will continue their training programme amidst the pandemic, to ensure that our national players are getting the preparation and support needed. As the committee members, coaches and players anticipate their first day of practice on the 5th of October 2020, we are hit with another possibility of a lockdown due to the rise in positive cases.
“Regardless of the circumstances, the teams have set their eyes to start practice as scheduled,” said Datuk Ahmad Najmi Abdul Razak who is the committee chairman for the National teams.
“Although the Sabah based players are unable to return for the centralized training, we will just have to go on without them”.
“However, if the situation takes a turn for the worse and a declaration for another lockdown is confirmed, the committee will then have no choice but to re-plan and adjust their programme schedule accordingly,” Najmi told The Vibes.
The 38 players for the senior men’s team training have been announced on the 1st of October, while the junior men’s and women’s team were announced at the MHC office today. – The Vibes, October 2, 2020
