SINCE I started a series of chats over Instagram live a few months back, I have picked up so many great tips from celebrity friends.
In an interview with Deanna Yusoff, I asked her how she keeps her complexion glowy and healthy. She wasn't even using a filter and I couldn't focus on my questions as I was distracted by her flawless skin.
She said face yoga.
Since then, I have been secretly researching and doing it on my own before I shower. At first, of course, I was laughing so hard at myself because I looked like one of my guppies but after a while, I got used to it and found so many benefits from doing face yoga.
Face yoga helps to firm and lift the muscles beneath our skin, and also helps smoothen lines and iron out the wrinkles.
With our fingers and hands massaging our faces, it will help to improve blood circulation, which will help improve lymphatic drainage and of course release stress. Sometimes, I even use gentle face scrubs when I massage my face. I got immediate results as I perform it consistently four times a week for 20 minutes.
I have fewer wrinkles and I somehow feel my chin is sharper, I don’t know, maybe because my double chin is almost gone.
I read somewhere that if I create a routine to target an area such as my frown lines, face yoga can help improve the shape of your face by activating and strengthening the facial muscles.
I also love the fact that face yoga exercises can be done anywhere, at any time, you don’t even need a yoga mat.
As you will see in my video (promise you won't laugh looking at my guppy face, I promise...it’s super cute), face yoga is not difficult nor complicated at all.
