KUALA LUMPUR – Another sad piece of news hit the football industry after former Malaysian footballer Serbegeth “Shebby” Singh passed away after suffering from a heart attack while riding his bicycle in Johor earlier today.
A spokesperson from the Tanjung Kupang police station confirmed this with The Vibes.
Former national coach B Sathianathan told The Vibes that this is heartbreaking for the Malaysian football industry as Shebby passed away despite being “such a fit person”.
“He was the first local pundit to break into English football commentary for Astro.
“Although we may have not agreed on many things in football, we kept our friendship going. I will miss him,” he said.
Meanwhile, in a statement on social media, Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) expressed their condolences to the family of their former technical advisor.
Youth and Sports minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said on Twitter “this is a great shock and a great loss to all of us”.
