IPOH – Perak FC has denied that the club’s new logo is not a “copy paste” job but a refined one that was agreed to by the management.

Perak FC Chief Executive Officer, Muhammad Yunus Zakariah said the designing of the logo had been discussed at the management level since early January and the transformation done on it was in line with the rebranding of the Bos Gaurus squad.

“This logo was produced by our own designers. Originally, our intention was to change the logo at the end of the season if the team managed to get back into the Super League but it was accelerated due to many other things that needed to be done.

“To me, the changes made are not too drastic and we still maintain the original elements such as colour (yellow and black) and the seladang (gaur) as the team’s mascot,” he said when contacted by Bernama, today.

On Saturday (January 29), Perak FC introduced the new logo ahead of the Premier League competition this season through the club’s social media sites.

Through a 45-second video clip uploaded on the club’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube accounts, several past Perak FC logos from 1921 to 2021 were displayed.

Muhammad Yunus said the club was open-minded and accepted criticisms levelled on the new logo with an open heart.

Apart from that, Muhammad Yunus said the Bos Gaurus will register 27 local players for this season and that the contract signing sessions will begin from today.

“The contract signing sessions for all these players will be held in stages starting today and we expect it to be completed this week,” he said.

On speculation that former Kuala Lumpur player Indra Putra Mahayuddin and former national player Wan Zack Haikal Wan Nor will join the team, he said it has not been finalised but admitted that both have participated in training sessions conducted by head coach, Yusri Che Lah.

“I can’t say they will definitely be with the team because for now we also have to look at various aspects and views from the coaches before the actual decision is made,” he said.

He added that Perak FC was also planning to get the services of three import players to further beef up the team’s strength

“We are still in the process of identifying them and it is expected that all matters related to the signing of import players will be completed before February 22,” he said. – Bernama, January 31, 2022
