KUALA LUMPUR – Sabah Journalists Association and Kota Kinabalu Journalists Association (Gabungan Media Sabah) are organising their inaugural Sabah Media-National Press Club (NPC) Goodwill Visit and Media Games from July 15-18.
Being the first of its kind, the event is positioned to promote and enhance stronger ties between media organisations nationwide.
It also aims to accentuate the need for maintaining all-rounded health, wellness, and fitness culture amongst media professionals.
“We see this as a good opportunity to promote collaboration with journalists nationwide by combining our resources for a better future for media practitioners.
“This is easily the biggest gathering of media from East and West Malaysia,” said NPC president Datuk Ahirudin Attan at the press conference today.
The event has received about 100 participants, of which 46 of them are NPC members, who will compete in multiple sporting events such as football, tenpin bowling, pool, and darts.
They are from Gabungan Media Sabah, NPC, Penang Press Club, and Northern Sarawak Journalists.
The event, which will be held in Kota Kinabalu, is also supported by the Sabah state government and tourism board.
Through a written statement, Sabah Tourism Board Chairman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, meanwhile, added: “This is a significant opportunity for members of the NPC and Northern Sarawak Journalists Association to build bridges with the local media and the state government.
“I wish this will not be the first and last media outreach event and hope the NPC will return the favour by organising a similar engagement trip for our Sabah and Sarawak media fraternity in the future.”
Sponsors who had the pleasure of being part of the occasion would be digital healthcare company Trek4Me Berhad, Malaysia Airlines, Telum Media, as well as MyQaseh. – The Vibes, July 13, 2022
