KUALA LUMPUR – The national Under-19 team will have the chance to bag another title this season when they compete in the International Youth Under-19 Tournament 2022 in the Binh Duong province, Vietnam from August 5 to 11.

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), in a statement today, said the team’s participation in the quadrangular, organised by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), is part of their preparation ahead of the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers in Mongolia in September.

The national Under-19 team, who are coached by Hassan Sazali Mohd Waras and who won the Under-19 Asean Football Federation (AFF) Championship 2022 in Indonesia recently, will take on Vietnam, Thailand and Myanmar in the quadrangular.

The national Under-19 team will play Thailand on August 5, Vietnam (August 7) and Myanmar (August 9). The final and third-placing match will be held on August 11.

A total of 20 players have been shortlisted by Hassan Sazali for centralised training camp from August 2, with only six players retained from the victorious Under-19 AFF Championship squad.
