SHAH ALAM – Management and Science University Medical Centre (MSUMC) and the Football Association of Selangor (FAS) today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on medical and health rehabilitation for Selangor MAC futsal team in the 2023 Malaysian Premier Futsal League (MPFL).
MSUMC president Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid said the collaboration would involve MSUMC sponsoring RM200,000 for the Selangor MAC team, including player health checks and team management, medical and rehabilitation consultancy, and ambulance services.
“The collaboration also involves the support of medical officers, consultancy and dental treatment, the use of a physiotherapy centre as well as support for FAS players and staff to continue their further education either at postgraduate or undergraduate level at MSU,” he said when speaking at the MoU signing ceremony in MSU Dewan Canselor, today.
Also present at the ceremony was the Football Association of Selangor (FAS) president, the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
The MoU which was witnessed by Tengku Amir Shah and Mohd Shukri was signed by Selangor MAC manager Mimi Afzan Afza and MSUMC chief executive officer Zahri Abd Ghani.
Besides, Mohd Shukri said FAS through Selangor MAC will play an important role in the development of the MSU futsal team that will participate in the Institute of Higher Education (IPT) Super Futsal League 2023, particularly in the use of facilities, training and expertise sharing.
“Therefore, the collaboration between MSUMC and FAS is an important effort in improving the performance and development of the Selangor MAC futsal team with MSUMC to ensure the health and fitness of the players are at an optimal level.
He said the collaboration with FAS will see MSU through the International Medical School, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences and School of Education and Social Sciences share expertise in sports science, sports medicine, entertainment and recreation management and physical education.
The MPFL competition, which is starting tomorrow until July, will line up 14 teams divided into groups A and B according to zones with the competition being conducted in a two-round league format at the team's chosen venue. – Bernama, February 17, 2023
