Former EPF branch manager to contest in Kadamaian for KDM

FORMER Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Kota Marudu branch manager Josely Taising has been named as Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) candidate for Kadamaian in the coming Sabah election.

KDM deputy president Datuk Wetrom Bahanda announced this during a gathering of KDM Youth, Puteri, and Women in Taginambur on Sunday as reported by Borneo Post.

Wetrom urged the people of Kadamaian to rise and make a change for a better future.

Josely holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and a master’s degree in Christian Studies.

Recently, Upko president Datuk Ewon Benedick confirmed his intention to defend the Kadamaian seat.

In the 2020 snap state election, Ewon defended the seat with a majority of 3,459 votes in a six-cornered contest, which was a slight improvement from the 3,294-vote majority when he first stood for the seat in 2018 during a four-cornered fight. - October 7, 2025
