FOR six long years, Pratik Joshi lived alone in London - working tirelessly as a software professional, driven by one dream: to one day create a better, brighter future abroad for his wife and their three young children, who waited patiently back in India.
That day had finally come.
After years filled with late-night phone calls, visa challenges, and calendar countdowns, the family was finally reuniting.
Just two days ago, his wife, Dr. Komi Vyas, a dedicated medical professional, resigned from her position in India.
Their home was packed, heartfelt goodbyes were exchanged, and their hearts were filled with hope.
A new life was waiting for them. A future they had only dreamed of was now within reach.
That morning, they boarded Air India flight 171 to London together - as a family.
Smiling. Laughing. Pratik snapped a selfie, capturing all five of them framed by airplane windows and soaring dreams, and sent it to relatives:
“We’re finally flying home.”
But they never arrived.
The plane crashed.
All five lives - gone.
In an instant.
No warning. No goodbye. Only silence.
What was meant to be a beginning became the end. What was meant to be the first page of a new chapter became the final paragraph of a beautiful, unfinished story.
A father’s tireless dedication.
A mother’s sacrifice.
Three innocent children with their whole lives ahead - All lost in a moment of unimaginable tragedy.
We always think we have time.
To chase dreams.
To say, “I love you.”
To create memories.
To truly live.
But life, in its harshest form, reminds us - it can vanish in the blink of an eye.
So while you still can - Hold your loved ones closer.
Say the words you’ve been holding back.
Don’t postpone happiness.
Don’t delay love.
Don’t wait to start living your life.
Because tomorrow is a promise none of us are guaranteed. – June 13, 2025
