KUALA LUMPUR – Some 113 passengers and nine crew members of a Tibet Airlines flight have been evacuated after its Airbus A319 caught fire after an aborted takeoff in Chongqing, China.
The carrier said in a statement that no deaths were recorded while passengers and crew suffered minor injuries.
Meanwhile, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport said more than 40 passengers had minor injuries.

Reuters also reported that the aircraft’s left front side caught fire at 8.09am (Malaysian time), while an investigation is underway.
The affected aircraft is a nine-year-old Airbus A319 and fitted with CFM56 engines. The manufacturer said it will take effort to assess the incident.
Tibet Airlines is a Lhasa-based airline with a fleet of 39 planes.
