MOF: RON95 unchanged, retail prices for RON97, diesel drop for coming week
Ministry keeps to changes in the international oil market to ensure affordability – March 12, 2025

MALAYSIANS will see some relief at the fuel pump this week as the government has announced a reduction in the prices of RON97 petrol and diesel in Peninsular Malaysia from  March 13 to March 19, 2025.

The Ministry of Finance, in a statement, said RON97 will decrease by 10 sen, bringing the price down to RM3.28 per litre, while the cost of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will drop by 7 sen, now priced at RM3.06 per litre.

Despite these changes, the price of RON95 remains unchanged at RM2.05 per litre, and diesel in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan will continue to be priced at RM2.15 per litre.

This adjustment comes amid ongoing fluctuations in global crude oil prices, MOF said, and the government has underscored its commitment to keeping a close watch on market trends and adjusting fuel prices in line with these changes, all while striving to maintain price stability for consumers.

The price adjustments follow the principles set out in the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) formula, which determines weekly fuel prices based on global market movements.

This mechanism ensures that fuel prices are responsive to changes in the international oil market, while also considering the need to balance consumer affordability.  – March 12, 2025
