A MAN was allegedly abducted, tortured, and killed following a dispute and personal issues, after which his body was buried in the Semenyih area of Kajang.
The incident came to light after police arrested 15 individuals believed to be involved in three separate criminal cases, including abduction, murder, and firearms-related offences.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar stated that the victim was abducted by several individuals in a car at Ampang Waterfront between 4 am and 4:30 am on September 24.
According to him, the victim's wife lodged a police report regarding her husband's disappearance, prompting the police to launch search, tracking, and intelligence operations.
"Based on the police report received, we conducted operations that led to a series of initial arrests.
"On September 27, police were led to a location in the Semenyih, Kajang area, where the victim was killed and buried," he said.
Some of the wanted suspects are believed to be involved in the incident.
Shazeli stated that the victim was a 42-year-old local self-employed man who knew the suspects.
He said investigations revealed that the incident stemmed from a dispute between the victim and the suspects, who are believed to be involved in gang-related activities.
Shazeli said the victim was believed to have been held captive at a different residential premise before being killed, though the exact time of the murder could not be determined.
According to him, the post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death was multiple sharp-force injuries to the neck.
"Based on the injuries found on the victim's body, the condition indicated that he had been subjected to such treatment (torture).
"In addition to the neck wounds, there were various other injuries on the victim's body," he said.
He stated that an operation conducted by the Selangor Contingent Criminal Investigation Department (CID), in collaboration with the CID units from the Ampang and Kajang District Police Headquarters (IPD) between September 24 and 27, led to the arrest of 15 individuals.
"The suspects comprise 12 local men, one local woman, and two foreign men, aged between 20 and 48.
"Checks on past records revealed that some of the arrested individuals have criminal records and prior offences related to narcotics," he said.
During the operation, police also seized two rifles, a Proton Wira car, and a hoe believed to have been used to bury the victim.
Shazeli stated that the investigation also revealed no ransom was received in the case.
He added that the suspects involved were charged in court on October 13.
"Regarding the kidnapping case, three suspects have been charged under Section 365 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code.
"As for the murder case, two suspects have been charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, while three others have been charged under Section 109 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 302 of the Penal Code," he said.
He added that regarding firearms-related offences, three suspects have been charged under Section 8(a) of the Arms Act 1960, read together with Section 36(1) of the same Act, while two foreign suspects have been charged under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
He further stated that some other individuals have been designated as prosecution witnesses, while five other suspects remain at large and are being pursued.
"The police believe the five suspects still at large are within the country; we will share details of the wanted individuals to assist in efforts to locate them," he said.
He also urged the public to provide information to the police if they are aware of any suspicious activities, particularly those involving security threats and the use of firearms. – October 14, 2026
