HALOGEN Capital has recently entered into a partnership with Affin Bank Berhad to offer the Halogen Shariah Defensive Bitcoin Fund.

The fund, which integrates a capital preservation strategy, aims to provide high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors with a secure, low-risk avenue to invest in Bitcoin, while adhering to Shariah principles.

The Halogen Shariah Defensive Bitcoin Fund adopts a buy-and-hold strategy that combines low-risk Islamic deposits with the high-growth potential of Bitcoin. By doing so, it offers investors an opportunity to benefit from Bitcoin’s significant growth potential, while protecting their investments from the volatility that often characterises digital asset markets.

Halogen Capital Founder and CEO Hann Liew said: “The Halogen Shariah Defensive Bitcoin Fund is redefining how high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors in Malaysia engage with digital asset investments. By pairing the high-growth potential of Bitcoin with a capital preservation strategy, we offer a solution that is both innovative and practical.”

Liew further emphasised the fund’s stability, adding, “In volatile markets, this fund is designed to respond accordingly, allowing investors to navigate downturns confidently while still positioning themselves for long-term returns.

“We recognise the growing demand for high-growth opportunities in the digital asset market, but without exposing investors to the risk of significant capital loss, all while maintaining Shariah compliance.”

Affin Bank, acting as the distributor of the fund on behalf of Halogen Capital, is offering investors a risk-managed option that bridges the gap between traditional financial principles and the emerging digital asset sector.

Affin Bank Executive Director of Group Community Banking Mohammad Fairuz Mohd Radi said: “We are excited to introduce an investment strategy that combines Bitcoin with Islamic deposits, offering our customers a secure gateway into the digital asset market.

“This launch underscores our ongoing commitment to delivering innovative financial solutions that align with the strategic goals of the AFFIN Axelerate 2028 (AX28) Plan – which focuses on unrivalled customer service, digital leadership, and responsible banking with impact.”

The fund is a closed-ended wholesale fund, exclusively available to sophisticated investors with a short to medium-term investment horizon of two years.

The initial minimum investment for the fund is RM10,000, with an initial sales charge of up to 2% and an annual management fee of 1%. – March 24, 2025
