THE Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has partnered with the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) to establish the Sultan Nazrin Shah Fellowship, a new initiative designed to drive innovation and leadership in the field of Islamic finance.
In a statement, SC Chairman Datuk Mohammad Faiz Azmi emphasised that, as a global leader in Islamic finance, the capital market regulator is committed to shaping the industry's future through knowledge-sharing, innovation, and collaboration.
“This fellowship will serve as a catalyst for pioneering research and fresh ideas to drive meaningful progress in Islamic finance,” he stated.
The Sultan Nazrin Shah Fellowship offers a distinguished opportunity for the selected candidate to engage with renowned scholars and industry leaders worldwide, influencing the future of Islamic finance. The fellowship will not only support research on emerging trends and innovations but will also focus on fostering strategic partnerships, collaborative projects, and the sharing of knowledge for the development of the sector.
The ideal applicant should hold a doctorate in a relevant discipline, with significant research experience. Experience in securing research funding and fostering partnerships will be considered a valuable advantage.
The full-time fellowship will be based at OCIS, with placements expected to commence in the third quarter of 2025, in alignment with the academic year at OCIS. – March 25, 2025
