U MOBILE Sdn Bhd has officially received the Letter of Award from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for the deployment of the country’s next-generation 5G network.

U Mobile Chief Executive Officer Wong Heang Tuck said the mandate positions the company at the forefront of Malaysia’s ambition to become a leader in the regional digital economy.

“We are committed to supporting the nation’s digital transformation by driving 5G adoption and supporting Malaysia’s aim of becoming a high-income digital nation,” Wong stated in a press release today.

He emphasised that U Mobile would deliver an exceptional experience for consumers through its enterprise-grade 5G network, which would significantly enhance connectivity and digital services across Malaysia. With over 17 years of experience in the industry, U Mobile is confident in its ability to roll out a cutting-edge next-gen 5G network.

Wong also expressed the company’s support for the government’s vision of a 5G Dual Network.

He believes that the initiative will promote industry sustainability, foster healthy competition, and encourage innovation, ensuring that Malaysia remains at the forefront of technological development in the region. – March 29, 2025
