THE World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) has been named Best Established MICE Venue & Special Event at the 2025 Tourism Industry Awards (TIA), a prestigious recognition of its continued leadership in Malaysia’s business events sector.

The award was presented on 9 August at Sunway Resort Hotel by Selangor Executive Councillor for Local Government and Tourism, Datuk Ng Suee Lim; Tourism Selangor CEO, Chua Yee Ling; and Dato’ Emmy Suraya Hussein, Chairperson of the TIA organising committee.

Organised by the Malaysia International Tourism Development Association (MiTDA) in collaboration with Tourism Selangor and ‘Santai Travel’ magazine, the TIA Awards recognise industry players who have raised standards in delivering inclusive and exceptional tourism experiences in Malaysia.

WTCKL’s Managing Director, Datuk Seri Irmohizam Ibrahim – who also serves on the Board of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) – said the recognition was a tribute to the centre’s unwavering efforts to lead the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) sector both locally and globally.

“This award reflects WTCKL’s continued commitment to being a frontrunner in the business events industry, not only in Malaysia but internationally. It reinforces our aspiration to position Malaysia as a global hub for business events and to showcase the world-class hospitality that defines our nation,” he said.

As one of Malaysia’s most iconic convention venues, WTCKL remains a top choice for hosting major events, offering state-of-the-art services and facilities. The recognition is expected to further strengthen its competitiveness and drive continued growth in the evolving business events landscape.

The ceremony was attended by key industry and government figures, including Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin bin Shari and Deputy Minister of Economy Dato Hajjah Hanifah Hajar Taib.

WTCKL is a premier member of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) and a leading business events venue in Malaysia.

Strategically located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, WTCKL boasts world-class infrastructure including expansive exhibition halls, versatile conference rooms, and modern office spaces designed to support global connectivity and economic progress. - August 11, 2025
