KUALA LUMPUR – First-cohort participants of the National Institute of Entrepreneurship’s (Insken) Online Onboarding Coaching Programme (E-Board) recorded an outstanding 29% increase in average sales.
The agency, which is under the purview of the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (Medac), said 209 entrepreneurs completed this four-month coaching programme, which ended last November, and a virtual graduation ceremony was held to celebrate their success.
Currently, the second intake of E-Board is ongoing with a total of 250 entrepreneurs, while the third, targeted to begin in mid-February, is open for registration, it said in a statement today.
Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Jaafar said Insken has assisted micro- and informal entrepreneurs to revive affected businesses, emphasising on providing guidance to sustain their businesses through digitalisation.
“This is not an easy task. Entrepreneurs from these categories not only need to be trained but also require guidance in a more holistic manner. They must be closely monitored to ensure that their business scale and skills can be improved as there are various challenges that lie ahead,” he said.
Wan Junaidi added that Insken’s “hand-holding” approach, instilled in its coaching programmes including E-Board, should be implemented more in any entrepreneur development initiatives and programmes. – Bernama, January 26, 2021
