KUALA LUMPUR – See Hup Consolidated Bhd has bagged a RM99.01 million contract from China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd to construct part of the subgrade works for the East Coast Rail Link.

China Communications is the contractor of the mega project.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, See Hup, which provides transport and logistics services, said the works will be undertaken by its 51%-owned unit SH Moment Builder Sdn Bhd (SHM).

“Under the letter of acceptance that SHM accepted today, the project involves the construction and completion of part of the subgrade works of Package 1, Section 4 of ECRL.

“The 28-month project will commence on March 1, 2021, with internally generated funds and/or external borrowings.”

The group said the award is expected to contribute positively to its future earnings and earnings per share.

SHM is principally involved in construction works and the supply of mechanical equipment. – Bernama, January 27, 2021
