REMBAU – The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry will identify women entrepreneurs, especially among its target groups, for its new programmes starting early next year.

Its deputy minister, Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff, said it aims to provide training and courses, as well as working spaces and loans, for women entrepreneurs to grow their business.

“We will provide participants. The ministry has identified women from the B40 group and others in need.

"We will encourage them to get involved in business, especially online, as well as provide them opportunities to start a business,” she said after presenting contributions to senior citizens at the Senior Citizens Activity Centre in conjunction with the Kembara Prihatin Negara programme here today.

She said the new programmes will be implemented in collaboration with several ministries, including the Communications and Multimedia Ministry, with allocations under Budget 2021.

On November 12, Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun had said her ministry will help women and single mothers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic through a programme to be launched next month.

On the Kembara Prihatin Negara programme, Siti Zailah said 31 sessions have been organised for almost 800 participants nationwide.

Kembara Prihatin Negara is aimed at helping one million people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, and provides awareness of goverment services and incentives for the people. – Bernama, November 21, 2020
