KUALA LUMPUR – Gamuda Bhd deputy group managing director Mohammed Rashdan Mohd Yusof has resigned from all directorships in the company effective today.
According to a statement by Gamuda, he is currently serving his notice period, with his last day at the company to be June 30.
Rashdan, 52, was appointed Energy Commission chairman in February, and his departure from Gamuda is to “focus his attention, energy, and effort in serving his national duty”.
Gamuda also said that Rashdan has assured the board that there has been “full compliance of all conflict-of-interest provisions as stated in the Energy Commission Act (Act 610) and that good governance was observed in all of his deliberations at the Energy Commission”.
Rashdan was appointed chairman of the commission on February 15, replacing Datuk Azian Osman whose service ended the day before.
Rashdan joined Gamuda on May 1, 2018 as deputy group managing director and was later appointed alternate director to Datuk Lin Yun Ling on September 28 the same year.
While in Gamuda, Rashdan was involved in Amanat Lebuhraya Rakyat Bhd’s takeover of various Klang Valley highway concessions, including Sprint, Kesas, and the SMART Tunnel. – The Vibes, April 25, 2023
