A ROUTINE food delivery recently turned into a heartwarming viral moment, capturing the empathy of social media users across the country.

In a TikTok video posted by rider @abangpov98, he is seen delivering a RM14.50 order to an elderly customer who paid in cash.

While counting out her change, the rider struck up a brief conversation and learned she planned to share the meal with her grandchild.

Opting against taking the full payment, the rider handed back a RM10 note and told her to keep the remaining coins as sedekah (charity).

He later shared that he refused the money out of concern that it might be her last bit of cash.

Before leaving, he offered a poignant parting thought: "Today it’s your turn, tomorrow or the day after, it could be mine. We’ll never know."

The story quickly resonated online, sparking a wave of public support.

In a follow-up video, the rider returned to the elderly woman's home—this time bearing extra food and a red envelope filled with donations from sympathetic Malaysians moved by his initial post.

Visibly touched, the woman thanked him for his kindness and insisted he take one of the drinks as a small token of appreciation. – September 5, 2026
