KUALA LUMPUR – Bursa Malaysia opened slightly higher today but retreated thereafter in line with the regional markets, as investors remained on the sidelines due to the lack of fresh leads, dealers said. 

At 9.31 am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 1.82 points to 1,4555.34 from 1,457.16 at Friday’s close. 

The key index opened 0.03 of-a-point higher at 1,457.19. 

On the broader market, however, gainers surpassed losers 298 to 207, while 263 counters were unchanged, 1,561 untraded and 13 others suspended. 

Turnover stood at 636.94 million units worth RM236.17 million. – Bernama, August 14, 2023
