MALAYSIA'S number one singer, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza has received another accolade in her illustrious career, when she was recently listed as one of the most award-winning singers in the world.

Siti found herself ranked 27th out of a list of 50 singers from around the world, according to the Twitter account, The Artist Museum.

With a total of 329 awards, Siti has beaten several other big names such as Celine Dion at 33rd, Selena Gomez in 37th, Alicia Keys in 38th, Christina Aguilera in 44th and Jennifer Lopez in 47th.

In terms of the number of awards received, Siti shares the same number with Nora Aunor from the Philippines, who is ranked 26th.

Perhaps unsusprisingly, the artist who received the most awards of all time is the King of Pop himself, the late Michael Jackson, with a total of 1003 awards.

Beyonce came in second with 896 awards. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift was in third place with a total of 867 awards.

Massively successful K-pop group, BTS, on the other hand, made their country proud when they managed to place themselves in the top five, when they placed in the fourth position of the chart with a total of 784 awards.

Rounding out the top five is Justin Bieber with a total of 720 awards.

Looking back at the history of Siti Nurhaliza's success, she began to venture into music in 1995 by participating in the HMI Star competition.

After succeeding in becoming the champion, Siti was immediately started her career as a recording singer. The song from her first album, 'Jerat Percintaan' won the Song Champion competition, making her one of the youngest winners to achieve that success.

Since then, Siti's name has been synonymous with success, continuing to bring home awards. Among the awards she has won include the Popular Female Singer of the Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH) 13 times and the Best Female Vocal in the Album Anugerah Industri Muzik 13 times. – The Vibes, April 8, 2022
