IN a scary moment for Carlos Santana and his fans around the world, the rock legend collapsed during the middle of one of his concerts.

Fortunately, Santana representative said the guitar virtuoso was over-taken by heat exhaustion and dehydration, leading to the medical episode. He was taken to a nearby hospital for further observation, but the representative says he's, "doing well."

The 75-year-old Santana was playing onstage at the Pine Knob Music Theater, outside Detroit, Tuesday night (in the US), when he collapsed. He was apparently 4 or 5 songs into his set, starting to sing a song called ‘Joy’.

Santana reportedly stopped performing and sat down in front of the drums, before collapsing backward. Staffers including a medical team stepped in.

In a video of the event, a black tarp was brought out in order to shield Santana, while officials tended to him.

Fortunately, Santana came back around, and was seen waving to the crowd as he was wheeled off stage.
