HONG KONG — Several attendees of  a concert held by Cantopop band Mirror were injured during a recent showcase when a huge video panel fell on the stage while the boyband was performing, drawing shock and horror among the crew and concertgoers late Thursday.

Among those injured are two dancers — one in serious condition and the other stable — along with three members of the audience.

The incident has prompted an immediate investigation by local authorities to review safety procedures and remediate protection of performers, staff and the public.

Reuters reported video clips of the screen falling were circulating on social media putting additional pressure on the tragedy.

"I am shocked," said Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee. "I express sympathy to those who were injured and hope that they would recover soon."

It is noted that future concerts are being suspended due to the incident until further notice. – The Vibes, July 29, 2022
