KEANU Reeves is back in the fourth instalment of the popular ‘John Wick’ franchise. In the previous film, Wick was missing a finger, shot by his best friend Winston (Ian McShane), and had fallen off a four-storey building. So, he is not in a particularly good place when ‘Chapter 4’ begins.
Wick's latest adventure follows the retired assassin as he travels across the world to challenge the most powerful criminal underworld players to gain his freedom. As he battles new foes, Wick reunites with some old allies and discovers that old friends have turned against him.
Director Chad Stahelski has teased that the latest instalment will be the longest film in the franchise's history, and that ‘Chapter 4’ will delve into the mythology surrounding the Continental Hotel, which serves as a refuge for assassins and serves as the focal point for the ‘John Wick’ franchise.
Keanu Reeves recently said that the action in John Wick: Chapter 4 is at an all-time high, which, if you have seen the other films in the bullet-filled franchise, is quite a statement.
Bill Skarsgard plays Marquis, Donnie Yen plays Caine, Laurence Fishburne plays Bowery King, Lance Reddick plays Charon, Rina Sawayama plays Akira, Shamier Anderson plays Tracker, Hiroyuki Sanada plays Shimazu, Scott Adkins plays Killa, and Ian McShane plays Winston.
Reeves and Stahelski have announced that they will reunite for the ‘Ballerina’ spinoff starring Ana de Armas, Anjelica Huston, Lance Reddick, and McShane.
During the development of ‘Ballerina’, Lionsgate announced the expansion of the ‘John Wick’ universe with an upcoming prequel series, ‘The Continental’.
The three-part series will look at the history of the Continental Hotel through the eyes of Winston, who will be played by Colin Woodell. This year, ‘The Continental’ will premiere on Peacock. – The Vibes, February 17, 2023
