SIX students from a MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) in Terengganu who were found to have bullied a Form Two student to the point of injury have been ordered to be expelled from the institution.

MARA chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki stressed that there is no compromise on the act for any reason.

“I have repeatedly stressed that there is no place for bullies in any MRSM.

“Any reason never justifies the act of hitting or any form of physical act that can cause injury.

“I have instructed the MARA Secondary Education Division to never compromise in this matter.

“All students involved should be expelled from the College. There is no need to entertain any appeal,” he said in a post on his social media.

It was earlier reported that a Form Two student at an MRSM in Besut claimed to have been bullied by a group of senior students at the Putera dormitory on Tuesday night, resulting in injuries to his stomach, ribs and back.

Besut District Police Chief, Superintendent Azamuddin Ahmad @ Abu, was quoted as saying that his department received a report regarding the incident.s

Based on the statement of the 14-year-old male victim, Azamuddin said that the student claimed to have been bullied by being ordered to do a semi-squatting position and having slippers placed on his head for 40 minutes, at approximately 11.30 pm.

He said that the victim also claimed to have been punched in the stomach and slapped in the face by several Form Three students while at the Putera dormitory.

The incident was later noticed by the warden on duty before taking the victim and the suspect to the warden's office. - June 27, 2025
