SINGAPORE – Actor Kamal Adli was injured after he was attacked by a man in Singapore late Sunday night (March 12). He has since undergone surgery at a hospital there.

"Alhamdulillah, Kamal is conscious (after surgery)... I hope everyone prays for our safety," said his wife, actress Uqasha Senrose via her Instagram Live.

In an Instagram update late last night, Uqasha said Kamal, 37, was repeatedly hit on his head, face, eyes and body with a baton by an unnamed assailant.

Without revealing the hospital Kamal was in, Uqasha said Kamal underwent a "major operation" due to severe head injuries.

Uqasha said the matter has been submitted to the police for further investigation and she also asked for fans and members of the public to pray for her husband's recovery.

The couple is in Singapore for the three-day Hari Raya Mega Sale 2023 event which started on Friday, at Hall 5A of the Singapore Expo.

According to Uqasha, the incident happened at the end of the event.

Uqasha also included pictures of the incident and said the criminal has been arrested.

Citing a Singapore police spokesperson, local media reported that the police received a call about an altercation at the Singapore Expo.

"A 37-year-old man was still conscious when taken to hospital. A 34-year-old man was also arrested in connection with the case. Investigations are still underway," the police reportedly said. – Bernama, March 13, 2023
