PARTI Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has made a U-turn on his earlier decision.

Following his announcement that he wanted to bow out, he told delegates at the party’s annual general meeting today that he has agreed to stay another term.

He said he came to the decision after discussing it with his wife, Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, who persuaded him to stay another term.

“I got a message from my wife who asked me to stay on.

“She told me not to disappoint the members who still need me. So I will stay for another term,” he said.

Yesterday, Muhyiddin told the assembly that he would not defend his position in the coming party elections, set to be held next year.

He said the time had come for him to let go of the presidency.

However, his announcement was met with strong protest from the delegates, who cried out “Tarik balik” (retract the statement). – The Vibes, November 25, 2023
