THE BODIES of the pilot and co-pilot of the ill-fated BK 160 Gabriel light aircraft crash that crashed into a plantation in Kapar have been found wedged two metres deep into the earth within the cockpit.

State Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the find following a massive search and rescue operation after the plane fell from the sky at around 1.35pm today.

The cockpit had nosedived on the ground near a village called Kampung Tok Muda.

The debris of the whole plane were scattered within a radius of fifty metres at a palm oil estate there.

The bodies of the two victims were successfully removed from the crash site at 8.10pm and taken to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) for post-mortem.

"The victims involved are Daniel Yee Hsiang Khoon, 30, and Roshaan Singh Raina, 42," Hussein told a press conference at the scene of the incident.

Also present was Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail.

A total of 150 members of various agencies were involved in the effort to remove the victims' bodies.

The rescue team faced difficulties in removing the two bodies and had to use an excavator brought in by the Klang Royal City Council.

"It was difficult because they were submerged. We could not just dredge randomly,” Hussein added.

Investigations will be conducted by the Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) and the case has been classified as sudden death.

Earlier, Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) CEO Datuk Captain Norazman Mahmud had said that the last contact the aircraft had with air traffic control was 1.35pm.

The Kuala Lumpur Air Traffic Control Centre was immediately activated to determine the location of the aircraft.

Videos showing the alleged incident and scattered debris, including parts with the aircraft's registration number, quickly became viral on social media. – The Vibes, February 13, 2024
