ABOUT 100 participants of the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih) rally marched to the parliament building at about 8.30 am today.

They began gathering at the Tugu Negara as early as 7 am before marching to parliament, escorted by about 100 policemen.

Bersih had submitted a notice to the police yesterday on its plan to hold a rally demanding the implementation of full reforms in front of parliament today.

Chairman of the NGO, Muhammad Faisal Abdul Aziz, said the rally was held to demand the implementation of full reforms by the unity government.

The rally carries the social media hashtag #Reformasi100Peratus.

Among the demands to be voiced are issues related to the Protection of Whistleblowers Act 2010 and the term limit for the Prime Minister.

Others include those related to the Official Secrets Act 1972; abolition of the Sedition Act 1948; and for a moratorium on discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) in corruption cases. - The Vibes, February 27, 2024
