JOHOR regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has accused Selangor FC of "playing the victim" after a spate of attacks on the club members.

Taking to social media, the Tunku Mahkota of Johor (TMJ) accused Selangor FC chief executive officer Johan Kamal Hamidon of covering up his team's failures by making up stories.

“What’s next, Dr Johan? The best way to cover up failure after spending RM47 million of the government’s/people’s money every year is by being good at making up stories,” he said in a comment he left under a Malaysian Football League Instagram post yesterday about a Selangor FC player whose house was burgled on Wednesday night.

He said Selangor FC would now accuse him of a “grand conspiracy” over the recent string of attacks on their players.

“Confirm this is all the work of TMJ with JDT, mastermind, and the hidden hand," said the crown prince, who owns Johor Darul Ta’zim FC.

“Everything is TMJ’s fault, FAM’s (Football Association of Malaysia), MFL’s (Malaysian Football League), and PDRM’s (police).

"They themselves never did any wrong. ‘False flag’,” he added sarcastically.

In the latest attack, Selangor defender Ahmad Khuzaimi Piee's house in Shah Alam was burgled while he was training. His wife and child were in Malacca at the time.

The burglars escaped with his Yamaha Y15 motorcycle, four branded sling bags, and a passport.

On May 6, Selangor winger Faisal Halim suffered fourth-degree burns after he was splashed with acid by an unidentified individual at a shopping mall in Petaling Jaya.

Selangor CEO Johan was also reported to have received a threatening phone call from an unidentified person claiming that he would be the next acid attack victim. Johan has filed a police report over the threat. – May 24, 2024.
