THE Works Ministry has ordered the Malaysian Highway Authority and the Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway (SPE) concessionaire to immediately inspect visible cracks in a flyover in Jalan Cheras.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi expressed concern about the cracks, which could put the safety of motorists at risk.

"I have instructed the Malaysian Highway Authority and the SPE highway concessionaire to go to the site tonight to carry out an immediate inspection and evaluation," he wrote on X.

"The safety of all parties, especially road users, must be prioritised."

Alex also reposted a message showing the cracks on the flyover.

"Are the cracks on the flyover getting wider?" the message read.

The post was accompanied by two pictures showing a comparison of the flyover in April and now. – June 8, 2024.
