YANG di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim has paid RM1.75 million for a “FFF 1” vehicle registration number, money that Transport Minister Anthony Loke said would be used to fund his office's initiatives.

Loke said the money will pay for airfare assistance for students (FlySiswa) travelling beween the peninsula and Sabah or Sarawak, the Mylesen programme for the B40 group, and new helmets for motorcyclists.

“On behalf of the Ministry of Transport, I would like to express my great appreciation to the contribution from Tuanku and Tuanku's towards the welfare of the people. Daulat Tuanku!” Loke wrote on Facebook today.

Sultan Ibrahim had expressed hope that the federal government would use the proceeds from the sale of the number plate to help the people.

Bidding for the “FFF” vehicle registration numbers took place from May 11 to 15.
