HOME Minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has assured a thorough investigation into an incident involving a journalist who alleged sexual harassment.

Saifuddin, who is also Pakatan Harapan secretary-general said as long as a police report had been lodged, the incident would be investigated according to the law.

"I have not heard of the incident, but as long as a police report has been made, I can assure you it will be investigated," he told reporters at the Sungai Bakap by-election operations room today.

In the incident last night, a female journalist who was on duty for the by-election claimed she was sexually harassed by a campaign worker.

It is learnt that the incident occurred when she was covering an event attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in Sungai Kechil about 10.40pm.

She noticed a man near her performing an indecent act.

Seberang Perai Selatan police chief, Chong Boo Khim confirmed a report was lodged on the incident. - The Vibes, July 4, 2024
