POLICE have confirmed that the woman found dead – believed to have been murdered in the palm oil plantation of Kampung Sri Keledang, Hulu Selangor on Tuesday – is Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah, 25, who was reported missing after dropping off a rental car.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said this was confirmed by DNA test results.
“The DNA is positive, the body is that of Nur Farah Kartini. The body will be handed over to the family today,” he said when contacted by Harian Metro.
Several family members of the late Nur Farah were seen outside Sungai Buloh Hospital’s forensic unit this morning.
Also seen was a hearse from Sultan Idris University of Education (Upsi), believed to be used to transport the body for burial.
The deceased’s brother, Mohd Farriza Amir Abdullah, 28, said prayers would be held at As-Syakirin Mosque, Kampung Tanjung Selangor.
“The body will then be buried at Kampung Nyiur Manis Cemetery, Bentan, Pekan,” he said.
It was earlier reported that the body of the former Upsi student could not be claimed as the family had to wait for results of testing the DNA samples taken from family members. – July 18, 2024.
