THE body of a man found yesterday in the river near the Sungai Klang bridge has been confirmed to be that of Muhammad Nidza Afham Mokhtar, 23.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the family of the deceased has been notified.

"The body was found around 7pm. It has been confirmed to be that of the the person reported missing," he said.

Earlier, the police confirmed receiving a report about the singer's disappearance after he left home at 7.45pm on Tuesday.

The report, filed by the victim's sibling, said the victim was wearing a black and blue shirt when he left home in Bandar Puteri, Klang. He had used an e-hailing service to travel to Stadium Sultan Sulaiman for a jog.

His girlfriend traced his last known location to a bridge, where a family member discovered his wallet and other belongings.

Nidza was a participant in the reality show "I Can See Your Voice 3". He had released a single titled "Ternyata Bukan Aku".

His father, Mokhtar Mahmud, 57, said he would leave it to the police to investigate his son's death.

Nidza's sister, Afrina Hanie, said she believed he had been robbed as his debit card and cash were missing from his wallet. – August 15, 2024.
