A CAR driver narrowly escaped serious injuries after crashing into the wall of a multi-storey parking lot at Sultan Idris Hospital (Serdang Hospital) yesterday afternoon.

According to reports in The New Straits Times, in the 2.25pm incident, the Honda WR-V, driven by a 38-year-old man, suddenly skidded forward and crashed into the third-floor parking wall.

Half of the car was left protruding in the air from the third floor, while the driver managed to exit the vehicle safely before it could fall.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director (Operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received a distress call, and a team of six firefighters from Seri Kembangan was dispatched to the scene.

The team, led by Commanding Officer PBK II Amirrudin Md Zin, arrived at 2.38pm and found that the driver had alighted from the vehicle.

"After conducting a thorough inspection of the scene and assessing any potential dangers, the area was cordoned off.

"A tow truck was summoned, and firefighters assisted in safely removing the vehicle," he said.

He said no injuries were reported, and the situation was resolved without complications. - February 5, 2025
