A MAN was killed after a helicopter's rotor blade struck his head when the aircraft landed on its side in Bentong, Pahang, this morning.
District fire and rescue department chief Shafie Sulong said the incident involving a Bell 206 Long Ranger helicopter occurred at around 10.30am
According to sources, the fire occurred when the helicopter was trying to land. The helicopter lost control and caught fire.
Shafie said the victim, a 44-year-old Indonesian, was confirmed dead at the scene. The pilot escaped unhurt.

In a statement, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) said the Air Accident Investigation Bureau will lead a probe under Part XXVI of the Civil Aviation Regulations.
CAAM also confirmed that the accident involved a Bell 206L4 helicopter bearing registration number PK-ZUV.
It was leased and operated by MHS Aviation Berhad for an aerial work flight.
"The last recorded communication with the aircraft was at 10.18 am, when the operator notified the Flight Information Service at the Kuala Lumpur Air Traffic Control Centre that it was returning to the landing site," added CAAM. - February 6, 2025
