A PART-TIME singer who was also a mother of three was found dead, believed to have been murdered by her boyfriend, in a rented house in Taman Seri Mangga Section 1, Pokok Mangga, in Melaka yesterday morning.
According to reports in Sinar Harian, in the incident at 11 am, the 52-year-old victim, who had been renting the two-story house with her partner for the past five months, was found lying on the bed.
Her housemate, who wished to remain anonymous, said she noticed that the victim and the suspect had not left the room since last Friday and heard someone moaning in pain, but did not suspect anything on Saturday night.
However, on Sunday morning she became suspicious because the couple had still not left the room, so she knocked on the victim's room door before the man opened the door.
However, the man only opened the door slightly, and the victim's room was quite dark at the time with the windows covered by curtains.
"So I didn't see what happened, I only saw the victim lying on the bed and the suspect said the victim was sleeping," she said when met at the location by Sinar Harian on Sunday.
Sensing something amiss, she then contacted another friend of the victim who often helped take the victim to sing before she called the police.
Sources said that the police found the woman's bloodied body on the bed, with the suspect who was injured, lying nearby.
In addition, the source said, there were sharp weapons, namely two small knives believed to have been used in the incident at the two-story terrace house.
