A HEARTBREAKING discovery was made on Sunday afternoon when the body of a newborn baby was found lying face down in a toilet bowl in a women’s restroom at a petrol station in Sungai Haji Dorani, Sabak Bernam.

The grim find was made by a member of the public who immediately reported the incident to the police at approximately 12:00pm.

Sinar Harian reported that, upon arrival, officers confirmed that the baby had already passed away.

Sabak Bernam District Police Chief, Superintendent Md Yusof Ahmad, revealed that a medical examination confirmed the baby had died at around 11:15am.

“Police are actively searching for the individual or individuals involved in this case,” he said in a statement issued on Monday.

The case is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code, which pertains to the concealment of birth by secretly disposing of a body.

“If convicted, the offender could face a prison sentence of up to two years, a fine, or both,” he added.

The disturbing incident quickly went viral on social media, with several Facebook users sharing posts and photos of the scene, which sparked widespread outrage and condemnation from netizens.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact Investigating Officer, Inspector Nor Aimi Lyana Mohd Khairani, at 018-2510452.

This tragic event has shocked the local community, with many expressing their horror and disbelief at such an inhumane act. – March 24, 2025
