THE Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has successfully revived 89 private housing projects with a total gross development value (GDV) of RM6.48 billion in the first two months of 2025, thanks to the efforts of the Private Housing Project Recovery Task Force (TFST).
Bernama cited Housing and Local Government Deputy Minister Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu (pic) reported that of the 89 projects, 82 were granted the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC), while seven other projects were brought back on track.
He revealed that in February 2025 alone, the TFST had identified and monitored 230 delayed private housing projects, 347 problematic projects, and 116 abandoned developments.
These projects, across the categories of delayed, troubled, and abandoned, represent a combined GDV of RM107.04 billion.
In a statement released today, Aiman Athirah emphasised that KPKT, through the National Housing Department, will continue to closely monitor the recovery of these projects, following approval from the Ministry of Finance.
"KPKT is committed to collaborating with all relevant stakeholders and tackling the issues of delayed and abandoned housing projects nationwide in line with the ministry’s overarching agenda to protect the interests of affected homebuyers," Bernama cited him saying.
Aiman Athirah further added several projects under the Budget 2023 initiative are expected to secure their Certificates of Fitness for Occupation (CFO) or CCC later this year.
This includes 13 projects that are set to be successfully completed as part of ongoing efforts to resolve the country’s housing challenges. – March 26, 2025
