GMD clarifies its facilities were not involved in Putra Heights fire

GAS Malaysia Distribution Sdn Bhd (GMD), a fully owned subsidiary of Gas Malaysia Berhad, clarified that its gas facilities were not involved in the fire that broke out at Jalan Putra Harmoni, Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, earlier today.

In a statement released following the incident, GMD confirmed that while the fire was significant, none of the company's gas infrastructure was impacted. The company assured the public that it had responded swiftly to the situation.

"Upon notification, our emergency response team was immediately deployed to the site to assess the situation. We would like to clarify that the incident did not involve our gas facilities," the statement read.

Despite confirming that their facilities were not affected, Gas Malaysia expressed its continued commitment to ensuring public safety. The company is collaborating closely with relevant authorities and its gas suppliers to monitor the ongoing developments.

"Gas Malaysia remains committed to prioritising public safety and is working closely with the relevant authorities and gas supplier to monitor developments," the statement continued.

The company also reassured all stakeholders that it would remain in regular communication with its partners, including shippers and end users, providing updates as necessary in the coming hours. – April 1, 2025
