MALAYSIA Airlines has issued a warning to customers about an increase in online scams, where fraudsters are pretending to be the customer service representatives of the airlines.
The airline said that scammers who created fake accounts engaged customers in the comments section of social media platforms.
“Do not engage with these scammers, as they may ask for your personal details, payment information, or direct you to fraudulent links,” the airline said in an announcement on its social media platforms.

The national carrier urged the public to only trust its official and verified social media accounts (©malaysiaairlines) on Facebook and X which can be identified by the blue verification tick.
It advised customers to ignore and report any suspicious messages or comments and refrain from engaging with them.
Malaysia Airlines also assured passengers that its official customer support channels remain secure and accessible.
For assistance, it urged passengers to only engage with its official, verified accounts or reach them through their live chats. - April 3, 2025
