PETROL and diesel prices in Peninsular Malaysia have been reduced by 10 sen per litre, with RON97 now priced at RM3.18 and diesel at RM2.88 for the week spanning 17 to 23 April, according to a statement released by Malaysia’s Ministry of Finance (MOF) today.

The retail price of RON95 petrol remains unchanged at RM2.05 per litre, while diesel prices in Sabah, Sarawak and the Federal Territory of Labuan are also maintained at RM2.15 per litre.

The Ministry explained that the weekly pricing structure is determined based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula, which reflects changes in global market conditions.

“The Government continues to monitor market developments and adjust retail fuel prices in response to global oil price movements, while supporting price stability,” the statement read.

The MOF further noted that the Government will assess the impact of global crude oil price fluctuations and adopt appropriate measures to safeguard the welfare and well-being of the Malaysian people. – April 16, 2025
