POLICE are looking for a woman who was the victim of a physical assault in a viral incident at the Taman Budiman Valley Intersection traffic lights, Section U15, Shah Alam.
Shah Alam Police Chief Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the incident was believed to have been recorded on a mobile phone camera before going viral via an individual's WhatsApp.
"The three-minute, 21-second recording shows a woman suspected of being beaten by a man at the location," he said in a statement.
According to him, police received a report regarding the incident from a 24-year-old woman at about 4.35am on Friday.
"In the incident at about 3.55am, the complainant and her friend were in a Perodua Axia car from the direction of Shah Alam to Puncak Alam via Jalan Persiaran Mokhtar Dahari.
"When their vehicle stopped at the traffic lights at the scene of the incident, a woman wearing a baju kurung with no slippers stopped the complainant's vehicle to ask for help," he said.
Mohd Iqbal said that so far, no police report has been made by the victim and she has not yet been identified.
"The woman involved is urged to come forward to make a report immediately to enable further investigations.
