DR MALEEQ - a Pakistani man who was practising medicine illegally in the Klang Valley for a year was nabbed yesterday during an Immigration Department operation.
According to reports, the man was providing medical services discreetly to foreigners at night for as low as RM90.
His 'clinic' came to light when immigration personnel raided locations in Sungai Buloh, Shah Alam and Jalan Ipoh about 11.20pm yesterday.
Department director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban said the raids follow tip-offs and more than two seeks of surveillance.
They also detained three women from Myanmar believed to be assisting in the clinic, along with a woman from Pakistan and another from India.
"A total six people aged between 23 - 57 were detained.
"The Pakistani man had overstayed, while the rest also breached other immigration laws," he said.
The 'clinic' only accepted online payments.
"We also seized patient records, medical equipment, sick leave certificates, uniforms for the staff and mobile phones," said Zakaria.
A Malaysian man and Filipino woman have since been issued notices to assist in the investigation. - May 21, 2025
