KOTA KINABALU – The state assembly today approved RM4.3 billion for Sabah’s Budget 2021 after its third reading today.
The bill was tabled by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor.
The state is projected to collect RM4.48 billion in revenue next year, generating a surplus of RM178.7 million.
“The budget is focused on achieving sustainable economic growth for the people’s well-being,” Hajiji said.
He also took note of opposition leader Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal’s suggestion to seek shares from national oil company Petronas from Putrajaya.
He said the RM4.3 billion budget allocation will be distributed for emolument payments, as well as recurring and special expenses.
A total of RM736.65 million will be allocated for emoluments (a decrease of RM2.94 million), RM1.6 billion for recurring expenses, RM1.96 billion for special expenses and RM964.15 million for development. – The Vibes, December 23, 2020
